Leicester Vegan
Fair
*New date and venue*
We have changed the date to Saturday, August 11th 2012 and will now be at the new venue at Avenue Primary School. The new venue is 2 mins away from Christchurch, so we will still be in the same area. For more info or to book a stall please e mail us asap.
We would also like to take this Opportunity to wish Verity good luck with her future projects, and thank Verity for all her hard work at previous events and making them the success that they are.
Leicester Vegan Fair Celebrated its Fifth Year on November 12th 2011
Leicester’s largest vegetarian and vegan fair returned, from its humble beginnings as “A Very Veggie Autumn Fair”, the event has continued to grow and was set to welcome over 200 people through the doors. Inside the event people found an array of eco, cruelty free, and ethically traded goods to browse and buy. There was also a programme of talks, a raffle, tombola, a kid’s corner and activities. Stalls included The Vegan Society, Friends of the Earth, Currant Affairs, Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital, Leicester Veggies, Aspire Health, Amy’s Kitchen, Green & Pleasant Health Foods, Lush and more. The events ever popular cafe served delicious cakes, savouries and refreshments. Leicestershire has a special significance to veganism since Donald Watson, founder of the Vegan Society, wrote the the first "Vegan Views" newsletter at his home in Evesham Road all the way back in 1944!
Leicester Vegan Fair is a not-for-profit event, run entirely by volunteers.
Vegans exclude from their lives - as far as is possible and practical - all forms of exploitation of animals for food, clothing or any other purpose, if you would like to find out more vist www.vegansociety.com for more info.
